Times are changing. Coupons are changing. The newspaper inserts….you can do without.
If you are feeling that scouting for a deal is taking up a bit too much time, let me say that an area you could cut out pretty safely is the newspaper coupons.
For me personally the only time I really use the newspaper coupons is at BJ’s because the items usually always have two in a package and many of the coupons are $1/2.
But other than that… I do without the inserts. A few weeks back I purchased 3 newspapers which I have not done in a very long time. Only because there were 4 coupon inserts in each paper and I wanted to do the Quaker Rice cakes deal and there was no printable ( I needed 4 of the coupons!). But that was 3 weeks ago and I have not bought a paper since and I have still saved money on groceries.
Even right now it is kind of annoying that I have 4 coupon inserts sitting in my binder making it fat and heavy..
I’m really over the newspaper inserts.
The values seem to be getting lower and the expiration dates are coming up much sooner too.
So if you are running out to get a Sunday paper every week because you are thinking you need to stock up on your coupons… Don’t.
Way more coupons are available online and the values are better. Many of the coupons online are for a single item. You rarely see this in the inserts. And when you see a coupon for $0.70/1 it is an awesome one to use at a store that doubles.
I know it may be sad for some of you… but if you want to save yourself time this year try doing away with your Sunday Inserts.
Let me just say of course if you are buying the paper to just read it than by all means look through and grab whatever coupons you need. But if you are like me and you read all your news online and only grab the Sunday paper for the inserts than go for it and eliminate them! Get yours coupons online!
