Oh being frugal, sometimes it can get the best of ya! Like this example:
“Better go easy on that milk, it’s gotta last us two more days.”
“What are all these leftovers doing in the fridge?” That’s what’s for dinner pick what you want out of these.
“Put that back, Mommy doesn’t have a coupon for it, and it’s not on sale.”
Sometimes taking the time to clip the coupons, look over the ads, get to the store make sure all the coupons went through, figure out your list when they are out of the item you wanted, etc. can be overwhelming.
But NEVER do I say after I see my savings on our grocery bill, that was not worth it.
There’s nothing wrong with putting a little bit of effort into saving our family money.
Groceries is the one place we really can do that.
I want to tell you this week that posting my weekly grocery shopping trips are in hopes to inspire and encourage you. NOT to compare in the aspect that you may be feeling there is NO way you could feed your family on $65 or less a week. Remember my husband is a hunter so not having to buy meat when weeks are tighter is easier for us.
That is ok. What is important is that you have a budget for your groceries and you are working towards staying in budget. It’s all about the savings. So I pray right now that anyone of you reading this post is encouraged to save your family money this week on groceries. Whether it’s by using coupons, grabbing some marked down items, or making a couple meals with things in your cupboards, whatever it may be let us go down this journey in support of one another. Not in comparison. 🙂

Well done! We eat all organic or GMO free (well, mostly anyway) and gluten, dairy, soy & corn free (yikes). So it can be tricky, but I’m happy to say that my local Walmart has started carrying organic and allergen-free choices at a real bargain. Great post!

GIna I have been trying to eat organic and GMO free as much as possible and it is tricky for sure because of price! Our Walmart too is having a lot more organic options at a more affordable price!
