- American Heritage Girls Troop NY0146 Chicken Barbecue – 4 to 7 p.m. May 8 at Our Lady of Mercy Parish Center, Le Roy. - Day Out With Thomas is a family event. Medina Railroad. The train departs every 45 minutes, beginning at 9:15 a.m. each day. The cost is $21. - Saturday’s Child 54th Annual Doll and Teddy Bear Show and Sale – 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 9 at the Clarion Hotel, formerly the Holiday Inn, 8250 Park Rd., Batavia. Admission is $5, under 12 are free. For more info., call 506-7948.
- Arts, Crafts and Vendor Show – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 9 at the Batavia Downs Gaming, Batavia.
- Opening Day at Darien Lake Theme Park at 10:30 a.m. All rides and attractions will be open except for the water park, which will open on May 16. For more information, visit www.darienlake.com.
- Batavia High School Class of 2016 is hosting a family-friendly Food Truck Rodeo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at BHS (260 State St.) with music, fun for the kids, and – of course – food!
- Delve into some wild creature encounters with Pond Discovery from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Be prepared to get muddy and wet, you will be using a net and sharing a bucket of water to catch animals, and then learn about them from a Naturalist Guide.Pre-registration is required.
