My $70.52 Healthy Weekly Grocery Shopping Trip & Meal Menu

Last week my family was here from North Carolina! It was an AWESOME time! I had my meals planned out but you know how it goes you eat out and my parents bought dinner and my husband and I went out on a date so I am finally back to schedule here.

This week Tops is not offering gas points ( won’t be for 2 weeks) and I wasn’t too excited about the deals so we went to Aldi’s and BJ’s.

At both stores my 4 year old had breakdowns after. At Aldi’s she was so mad screaming in the car Kenzie and I took our time walking to take the cart back. I can’t even remember why she was so mad.

Then I told her we had to stop at BJ’s if she wanted a ham sandwich.( I kind of made the mistake of mentioning ham sandwiches to them and then couldn’t bring myself to buy the lunch meat at Aldi’s because I hate the caramel color in there.)

So we chatted very seriously about her behavior and screaming. She was calm and said she understood. I was nervous because I knew she was tired.

Oh did we have a meltdown at BJ’s. On the way out. Because of the sticker ripping. (You know at Batavia store there are a couple ladies who give the kids stickers on the way out..)

Her shoe came off. That set her off more and the rest is history. I stayed calm and actually giggled a bit putting the cart back because life as a mother is always entertaining! There is joy even in these moments.

Oh the joys of shopping with your kids!!( You can check out a video I did shopping with them here!) They really are a joy. Even when they try your patience. You can read here how you can experience joy in everyday life!

Our weekly budget is $65. We are ok if I go over one week to stock up on something or buy meat. The main reason I can stay on a low budget is because I use what we already have and wait for sales! I am feeding a family of four.
