Here we are. Another week. Summer is winding down. Excited for fall and yet a bit sad knowing that winter is just around the corner. That’s how it goes though right? So it’s best to make the most of each season we are in and prepare the best we can for what’s to come while enjoying what we have!
This week I could have gotten away with just buying milk and jelly. That was all we really needed. But of course I saw some other sales and I shopped alone, and shopping alone is worse for me. I stray away from the list and look and this and that. When I have the girls with me it’s stay on track get what’s on the list and get OUT! 🙂
This week I didn’t need much so I spent more on Organic. Last week I went to Aldi and BJ’s club. I will try to use what’s in the garden as much as possible and meat we already have. I’ll be using the fish I got last week too!
Here’s what I got:

I continuously find myself jealous of grocery prices in the states. Last time I was in CT, my best friend and I started comparing the costs of what she pays for foods there vs what I pay for groceries here (Ontario). The cereal you bought goes for about $8 a box here; a gallon of milk minimum of $6.
Groceries are one of my least favourite budgeting items. To get basic groceries for a week for my husband and I, we’re usually looking at about $80-$150 depending on whether it’s a week that we are in need of vegetables and meats.
Tasia
WOW! I would die paying $8 a box! Are you able to use coupons and have a store that doubles coupons at least?! I can totally see why groceries are no fun to budget for!
Tabitha
Coupons sadly don’t make a whole lot of a difference here. Particularly if it’s for organic/healthy products. Usually, looking for the sales is our best bet, but even then, the sales are rarely that great :/.

WOW! I’m super impressed! You did great, and thank you for sharing. I’m inspired.

Ok…we are a family of 5 and this sounds great! Now I need a garden and chickens!!! Great read! THANK YOU!!!

Aim for a garden for next year!! Chickens really are not expensive to feed ( we are free ranging) and easy to maintain! Totally worth it!! Thanks for stopping by Bethany!
