- Corfu United Presbyterian Church Lenten Fish Fries – 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 27 at the church hall, 63 Alleghany St., Corfu. Menu: choice of two dinners by Krolick’s: – fish fry, with coleslaw, potato salad, roll, butter, dessert and beverage for $10- chicken fingers, with blue cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, roll, butter, dessert and beverage for $9. - Healthy Kids Day and Easter Egg Hunt at the YMCA, Batavia. 5-8 pm $2 per childface paint, inflatable obstacle course, essential oils, Easter bunny, and much much more.
- St. James Lenten Fish Fry – 5 p.m. Fridays, Feb. 20 through March 27 at St. James Church, 405 East Main St., Batavia. The fish fries take place every Friday during lent. Fried or baked fish; French fries or baked potato, cole slaw. The price is $9. Homemade desserts are also available for an additional $3.50. Takeouts available from 4:30 p.m. No tickets necessary. YWCA/Living Waters Apostolic
301 North Street, Batavia - The Second Annual Genesee County Chamber of Commerce Home Show – 5 to 9 p.m. March 27, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 28 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 29 at the Falleti Ice Arena. Sixty-three area businesses will be displaying their products and services at the Home Show and offering home improvement tips and suggestions on a face-to-face basis to the general public that attends. - Maple Weekend is taking place this weekend. This event involves
sugarmakers across New York opening their sugar houses and inviting
the public in to learn about making maple syrup. Our sugerhouse is
Sweet Dream Maple Farm located in Corfu. Check out their site here - Genesee Country Village Museum. Maple Sugar Fest. Celebrate the end of winter with self-guided walks to the sugar bush, 19th century and modern syrup making demos and tastings, a pancake and sausage breakfast and countless village activites.
- Easter Bunny at Olivers from 10a.m.- 2p.m
- Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge Eagle Watch1101 Casey Rd., Basom 1 p.m.Spotting scopes are staffed by a team of experienced birders who will help visitors view an active Bald Eagles nest and other migratory birds. Bring binoculars or share scopes at the Cayuga Overlook. Led by Bob Ensminger.
- Elba Betterment Committee 2nd Annual Basket Raffle. Over $1,000 worth of gifts and prizes donated by farms, small businesses and churches in Elba. Drawing on Friday, April 3rd, 7:00 pm at Chap’s Elba Diner. Tickets are $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00 and are on sale now at Chap’s or from any member of the Betterment Committee. SUNDAY 3/29
- The Great Batavia Train Show has been one of the premier hobby events in Western New York. All forms of model railroad and train-related merchandise will be available. Items offered include all scales of model trains, clothing, historic railroad items, books, videos and toys. Modeling demonstrations, and door prizes featuring great railroad items, will be part of the fun. Free parking. The event runs from 9 :30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.gsme.org.
- American Legion Post 576 Breakfast – 8 a.m. to noon, March 29 at the American Legion Post 576, 53 West Main St., Le Roy. The menu includes eggs, bacon, sausage, homefries, pancakes and omelets to order.
