Here is a list of things to do in Genesee County this weekend. I am really excited about the new Town of Batavia Public Market. Le Roy, NY 14482/ 9 am – 3p.m. - Opening day at Hidden Valley Animal Adventure! Wild game safari tours will resume at Hidden Valley Animal Adventure at 10 a.m. and run through Oct. 31. SATURDAY 5/2
- Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge, 1101 Casey Road, Basom, NY 14013. Warblers are active little birds whose plumages include dramatic combinations of colors. Join Tom Kerr as he searches for these colorful birds. We’ll meet at the Onondaga Trail parking lot. Bring binoculars.
- Spring Rummage Sale.St. Mark’s Episcopal ChurchCorner of East Main and Church Streets
Le Roy, NY 14482/ 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. - Community Action Angels Vendor Blender 2015 – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 2 at the ARC Community Center, Woodrow Rd., Batavia. There will be raffles, jewelry, crafters and many vendors. There will also be a Chinese auction and food available. All proceeds from the event will benefit the emergency services program for Community Action of Orleans and Genesee. For more info., call 343-7798.
- The Historical Society of Elba – 18th Antique/Collectible Show/Sale and Appraisals and Basket Raffle 9:30 a – 3 p.m. at the Elba Fireman’s Recreation Hall on Rt. 98 in Elba. Any interested venders, call June at 585-757-2791 for more information. This is a show of quality antiques and collectibles and unique artisans. Plan on joining us as there is no admission charge. Good food, lottery basket, 50-50’s thru the day.
- Chicken Barbecue Starts at 4:30 p.m. May 2 at the Bergen United Methodist Church, 27 South Lake St., Bergen. For more info., call 494-1312.
- The Pembroke Marching Dragons – Second Annual Drum Corps Invitational – 7 p.m. May 2 in the Pembroke Jr./Sr. High School Auditorium. The Pembroke Marching Dragons will be playing host to the Drum Corps World as they host their second annual drum corps invitational. This years event will feature: the four time DCA Brass Ensemble Champions, The Hitmen, The Hamburg Kingsmen, The two time DCA Mini-Corps Champion Ghost Riders Drum and Bugle Corps, The two time DCA Class A WOrld Champion White Sabers Drum and Bugle Corps, The Pembroke Marching Dragons will also perform alone and the concert will end with a “Mass Finale” of all of the groups playing together.
