This week seemed frazzled and you know why? I didn’t shop from my pantry first. I didn’t get creative. I shopped the deals. I should really have titled this one My Weekly Grocery Shopping Trips…
But you have to do both.
I can’t just shop from my pantry this week and miss out on the rare killer deal on King Arthur Flour and coconut oil.
But I also don’t want to go crazy with my stockup items and use all of this month’s grocery money either.
Once again Balance. All about the Balance.
So that is what I am reminding myself as I tally up my totals from my stores this week. 🙂
If you are new to this series you can start here.
My Tops Trip:
Total Before Savings: $48.89
Total After Savings: $20.19- I earned 90 gas points.
That’s like getting everything for $1.35 each!
You can see all the coupons I used here in my Matchups just search by product. I am so sorry I am short on time tonight!
I didn’t take a picture but I bought 2 Dozen Eggs from Target for $0.99 each. I used the 5% Cartwheel offer and the Snap Cash Back for $0.25.- Note that this was the sale price for LAST WEEK
Total: $1.63 or $0.82 each!
Hmm somehow the pictures I took before today are all gone… This is how the weekend was going and is slipping its way into this week.
So I’ll show you the receipt!
Ok so less typing anyways right? 🙂
* I want to make a note that I made my own Yogurt Twice and buying milk at Aldi’s for $1.98 its WAYYYYY cheaper. But I need a strainer to make it thicker for the girls. They ate it ok with Granola today but I think they were doing it to be nice! That yogurt is gone already and we went to Aldi’s on Saturday. Too expensive 🙂 Oh Just like the strawberries Gone Sunday Afternoon!
Than I headed to BJ’s. I can’t find my receipt or the picture. Of course.
Here’s what I got.
2- 10 lb. bags of King Arthur Flour @ $6.49 each– These were on sale normally $6.99
Used two $1/1 printable coupons here
1 Organic Better Body Foods Coconut Oil 36 oz. $11.99
Was on sale for $9.99
2 bags of Alexia Organic Fries 4 lbs. $7.99 each
On sale for $5.99 each
Used two $1/1 printable coupons here, I printed mine from Hopster, But I am not seeing Alexia on there anymore 🙁
Total Before Savings: $41.95
Total After Savings: $30.95
My Total Amount Spent on Groceries this week: $78.24.
And I said that I had $35 extra to spend this week.
So that brings me at $43.24 which would be under budget if I were to look at the $65 a week. But right on Target when I look at this for my total spent a month!
I am relieved. Sometimes when you make multiple trips you feel it will add up.
But always waiting for a sale and using coupons you are sure to surprise yourself with savings!
Here’s what I’m serving up this week:
Breakfast:
Cereal
Smoothies
Granola Bars
Chocolate Bunnies 🙂 From the Easter Basket, at least that’s all they wanted this morning!
Lunch:
Smoothies
Ham Sandwiches
Chicken Nuggets
Dinner:
Crockpot Mac & Cheese
Venison Roast
Crockpot Beans and Rice
Ham and Greens pot pies with Cornbread Crust
Eggs Benedict
DATE NIGHT TO CELEBRATE MY HUSBANDS 30Th BIRTHDAY!

Or what areas are you struggling??

Is making your own yogurt really less expensive than buying? Yogurt seems to be something that is always on sale for me and my kids eat it a lot. Milk seems to never be on sale…where I live anyway.

Milk has finally come down in price for us. A gallon of milk is $1.98. We have been buying Greek Yogurt at $4 a container. And they eat it in 2 days! So if I can master greek yogurt make mine a bit thicker it will be much cheaper. I only use 4 cups of milk for the yogurt. The best part of making it homemade is there is nothing artificial added and the sugar content is way less. How much is milk by you?
